Crime Rate Drops in Tampa
The city of Tampa has experience a 56% reduction in crime since 2002, why? When we look at the post liberal era of the church and of society today we cannot help but ask the question, Is the church relevant? Are we having any impact on our communities, towns and cities ? Our schools
reject any witness of God our president says we are no longer a Christian Nation what must we do to return to the power of God that shaped the formation of this nation in the days of Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield?
The Gospel in our Streets
We must all realize that social and moral change only comes by the church functioning under the power of the Holy Spirit. Many think that legislative changes in government will bring about this change but they are wrong. The only power that will bring about this change is the preaching of the gospel. We must be willing to go into the streets of our towns and communities with the message of the everlasting gospel and watch as Gods word subdues the forces of hell that would attempt to stop the advancement of the gospel.
The ministry of Rodney Howard-Browne launched an offensive on the city of Tampa Florida in 2001. Since 2002 the crime rate has been dropping . There has been an approximate 40% reduction in murder, 59% reduction in violent crime and a 55% reduction in property crime. If our feet are shod with the gospel of peace then we can bring peace to our communities. If we are willing to go and not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ we will see radical conversions that will begin to change the fabric of a godless society. We are the salt of the earth but if we do not function in the anointing that God has given us to reach a lost and dying world then how can our nation be preserved. We are the light of the world but if we continue to hide under the basket of our own lives and self interest how will the world around us be lead out of their darkness.
